Close Call!

When John brought the dog in for the last time last night, he noticed that Jimmy had somehow gotten off his leash. He was standing at the door waiting to come in, but he was no longer hooked up. We are guess that the very cold weather outside encouraged him to come back in rather than take advantage of being free and going for a walk about. Good thing as, this morning, John realized that in the process of pulling loose from the leash, Jimmy had also pulled off all his tags and he had nothing to identify him (other than the chip in his ear.) Fortunately, they were easily located and we can now put them back on. We suspect it was so cold that Jimmy really wanted to come in and he apparently had gotten tangled around the porch post and pulled so hard he pulled the ring open, releasing his leash and letting the tags fall off. We are so grateful that he came in rather than run away!
