Catch 22

Two of my backyard trees. I planted them close together when they were saplings. Originally, there were about 10 trees. You plant them close and then as they get older you move them. Well, all the other trees died. I left these alone as they were doing well, and I didn't want to risk them dying. Well, it is obvious now that they are thriving, but now, they are so closely I don't know if I can move them without killing one and I don't know how long they will survive being in each other's shawdow.

One is a blue spruce and the other a golden rain tree.
